Java Viewer Help    Go Back

This file provides details about the most common questions regarding the Java Viewer.

Poor Image Quality

For best results and best image quality you should set your monitor for 24bit true color @ 800x600 or 1024x768 resolutions.  Higher resolutions tend to magnify compression artifacts within the images which may be objectionable to some people.  Compression artifacts will manifest themselves as a 'halo' affect in areas where there is very little contrast, such as the sky or large areas of a solid color.

Can't Display Viewer

The requirements to view our tours are minimal.  In fact the only requirement is that your browser must support Java.  If you are having problems with the viewer you will need to verify that your browser is"Java Enabled"

For IE 4.x Browsers

Click View, click interet options, click the "advanced" tab. Scroll down to Java VM. Click the second option, JIT Compiler enabled.

For Netscape 4.x Browsers.

Click Edit, click preferences, click "Advanced". Scroll down to Java and activate.

For AOL users.

Once on AOL, minimize the screen. Go to your desktop and activate your browser separately.  Ensure that your respective browser is Java Enabled as described above.
